Manufacturing in the “Urban Forest”. _Nearly all paper is produced by harvesting trees from forests. Located only 12 miles southwest of Chicago, in Alsip, Illinois, FutureMark has found an “urban forest” by sourcing fiber from the huge quantity of waste paper thrown out in Chicago every day. FutureMark diverts waste paper from landfills to produce coated groundwood paper with up to 100 percent recycled content.
In our production process, the mill incorporates state-of-the-art de-inking technology that allows us to harvest superior pulp from paper waste, resulting in high-quality recycled paper. In addition, FutureMark’s customers can expect:
Short lead times
Ability to develop custom product solutions
The mill has made a great investment to adapt green technology. It incorporated advanced processing and manufacturing equipment, and imported proven flotation de-inking technologies from allied mills. As a result, we produce more than 150,000 tons per year of high-quality, coated groundwood paper for print and specialty applications.
